He restructured it and started manufacturing aluminum electrical conductors. In June 1917, the young director bought the company with the help of a group of investors. From 1920 the Datwyler family was the majority shareholder until the company finally took over the name of its owner in 1946: it was called Datwyler AG from then on. Over the years and the advancing global technological development, the product range expands from telephone cables, lead-sheathed cables, high-voltage cables, television cables and high-frequency cables to fiber optic cables in the 1980s. Today, Datwyler Cabling Solutions is an internationally established company with headquarters in Switzerland and branches in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
