The Fischertechnik toys have been around since 1965 and were intended to make the functionality of the technology understandable to children in a playful way. The automotive sector is the company's third major business area. As a specialist for system solutions in vehicle interiors, it supplies automobile manufacturers with components such as ventilation nozzles or cup holders. The company was founded by Artur Fischer in 1948 and initially manufactured electric lighters and loom switches. The development of the very successful S-Dowel in 1958 laid the foundation for the fastening technology product group that is so successful today. Fischer Holding GmbH & Co. KG is now represented by more than 50 national companies in around 40 countries and employs more than 5000 people worldwide. Production sites are in Argentina, Brazil, China, Germany, Italy, Serbia, the Czech Republic, the USA and Vietnam.
