Fronius International GmbH is an Austrian company. It is based in Pettenbach, but has other representations in more than 15 European countries, in North and South America, as well as in Asia and Australia. The core business is the development of technologies and solutions for energy monitoring or control in the areas of welding technology, photovoltaics and battery charging technology. The area of charging technology is referred to within the company as "Perfect Charging", in which tailor-made complete solutions for an efficient energy supply for drive or car starter batteries are implemented. In the photovoltaics division – referred to as “Solar Energy” – the company offers its customers electricity storage, energy cells, grid-connected inverters and solutions for system monitoring. It was founded in 1945 by Günter Fronius and started with the production of battery chargers and welding transformers. It is now managed by the third generation and, as a medium-sized company, is one of the leading providers in Europe.
