The history of the Grothe company begins as early as 1892. In the early days of the electric age, the founders showed real pioneering spirit and were one of the first manufacturers to start producing bells, contacts, transformers, switches and accessories. And as electricity became established within society and the economy changed, the Grothe company grew and changed as well. Grothe GmbH has belonged to the owner-managed Italian group Urmet since 2001. The merger brought additional know-how to the company and new markets were opened up. The product range has been expanded and now ranges from security technology to gel sleeves and smart home applications. Today, Grothe is one of the world's leading experts for intercom systems, signalling, security technology and building automation. The focus of research and development is on security around the building, door communication, connectivity and convenient control of lights and shutters. The company is located in Hennef. The production of the in-house horns, bell buttons, transformers and flush-mounted gongs is therefore carried out under the title "Made in Germany".
