The designation stands for the consumer electronics product group of the Grundig brand. Originally, Grundig was a very innovative company from Nuremberg. It was founded by Max Grundig in 1945 and, alongside other companies such as Volkswagen, Bosch and Krupp, was a symbol of the West German economic miracle after the Second World War. In the early years, the development and production of radios formed the basis for rapid growth. Then came tape recorders, televisions and record players. After the insolvency of Grundig AG, Grundig Intermedia GmbH took over the core area of entertainment electronics in 2004 as a subsidiary of the Dutch Grundig Multimedia BV. Since 2008, Grundig Multimedia BV has been fully owned by the Turkish Koç Holding with its in-house Beko Deutschland GmbH. As a result of the merger of the two companies, it has been offering around 500 products for a modern home under the umbrella of Beko Grundig Deutschland GmbH since 2021. The Grundig product groups are divided into the areas of TV, audio, household and body care. The core products are stoves and ovens, washing machines, televisions, vacuum cleaners, refrigerators and freezers, hair dryers, coffee machines and audio playback devices. They are supplemented by developments from Beko, whose range consists of large and small appliances for everything to do with the kitchen and laundry care, as well as air conditioning units.
