What does that mean? The company is a manufacturer of environmentally friendly electrical equipment for trams, subways, regional trains, trolleybuses, battery buses, hybrid buses and hydrogen buses. The credentials are impressive. Many major cities around the world rely on Kiepe Electric solutions for their local transport concepts, including San Francisco, Vancouver, Manchester, Cologne, Gothenburg, Istanbul, Linz, Parma and Geneva. It all started in modest circumstances. In 1906, Theodor Kiepe founded a repair workshop for electric arc lamps in Düsseldorf and continuously expanded its range of services until, from 1950, the focus was finally on the electrical equipment of trolleybuses. Today around 700 people work at the company headquarters in Düsseldorf and in the international subsidiaries located in Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the USA, Canada and India. Kiepe Electric has been a subsidiary of Knorr- Bremse since 2016.
