As early as 1957, Oskar Lapp invented the first industrially manufactured, oil-resistant and flexible control cable with color coding. With this innovation as a basis, he and his wife founded UI Lapp KG in 1959. The company, which operates today as UI Lapp GmbH, is still family-owned and has its headquarters in Stuttgart. With over 50 of its own sales companies, around 20 national and international production sites and over 100 foreign agencies, the company is present worldwide. Over the decades, the Lapp company has developed into an innovative manufacturer of more than 40,000 different standard items. The products are used in electrical and communications engineering, measurement, testing and control technology, in industrial robots and production machines, photovoltaic and wind power plants, in road and rail vehicles, oil platforms and many other areas of application.
