Lapp is a global cable technology company. This includes several thousand items such as cable glands, assembly aids, blind plugs, counter nuts, multiple sealing inserts as well as reductions and extensions for cables. The Lapp company was founded in 1959 by Oskar Lapp and his wife. The first industrially manufactured, oil-resistant and flexible control cable with color coding, which Oskar Lapp invented two years earlier, served as the production basis. Lapp now offers more than 40,000 different standard items. The company itself is now known as UI Lapp GmbH and is still family-owned. The headquarters are in Stuttgart, the state capital of Baden-Württemberg. It has 50 of its own sales companies. Production takes place at around 20 production sites on several continents.
