Safety and hazard information
Please note that electrotechnical work may only be carried out by qualified electricians or under their guidance and supervision. Observe any deviating country-specific electrical installation standards and regulations and seek advice from a local electrician. In addition, observe more current safety instructions and regulations for the products on the manufacturer's side or the product descriptions and installation instructions on the manufacturer's side.

Devices with a connected load of > 380V/400V require a heavy current connection and may only be connected by an approved electrical company. Devices with a power rating > 12kW require the approval of your grid operator (Germany, other countries may differ).

These devices limit both current and torque during run-up and avoid the shocks that occur with direct or star-delta starting. Mechanical loads and mains voltage dips can be reliably reduced in this way. The gentle start-up protects the connected devices and ensures a longer trouble-free production process with less wear. Due to the adjustable start value of the voltage, the soft starters can be set individually to the requirements of the application and, unlike star-delta starters, are not tied to two-stage starting with fixed voltage ratios. The Sirius 3RW30 soft starters are characterized above all by their small space requirements. Integrated bridging contacts avoid having to accept power losses at the power semiconductors (thyristors) after the motor has started up. This saves heat losses, allows for a more compact design and makes external bypass circuits superfluous. Note: When switching on three-phase motors, there are usually voltage dips with all types of start (direct start, star-delta start, soft start). The infeed transformer must always be dimensioned in such a way that the voltage dip when the motor is started remains within the permissible tolerance. If the infeed transformer is tightly dimensioned, the control voltage (independent of the main voltage) should be supplied from a separate circuit to prevent the soft starter from switching off
