Energy management

This catalogue offers articles used for energy measurement or energy optimization in various bus systems, for example for radio bus system applications or the KNX bus system. KNX energy meters can be used for utility cost billing or cost monitoring, for cost center billing, energy optimization, visualization or installation monitoring. These KNX meters do not only capture and display consumption values, they also display other functions. They can be used to identify high consumption devices, to switch off specific channels if thresholds are exceeded or just to display the daily energy costs, voltage, current and power data. KNX visualization can generate a variety of display formats depending on time or load profile, can store your energy provider’s current prices and display accrued costs and compare them. For billing purposes, the meter should absolutely be calibrated and have MID approval. MID means Measuring Instruments Directive. The MID is a EU directive covering measuring instruments. Even in case of bus failure, the meters should continue to collect and store data. All KNX meters can be ordered as calibrated or uncalibrated type and with / without MID certificate. In Germany, for example, electricity meters used commercially must be calibrated. Therefore, check whether the meter intended for commercial application can be used in your country. After expiration of the calibration period (8 years for electronic meters, 12 years for mechanical transducer meters with induction system or 16 years for mechanical meters with induction system), the meter has to be replaced or the calibration period extended. Carefully study the features and parameters of the meters provided by different manufacturers to find the most suitable meter. There are different types of KNX meters, for example, direct meters or transformer meters for very high currents. In single-family houses or apartment buildings KNX direct meters are generally used. These are usually available up to 100A. In this eibabo category you will find, for example, radio single-phase meters, KNX energy meters, interface modules, energy measurement sensors, KNX power modules, KNX sensors, KNX meter interfaces, wireless energy sensors, KNX peak load limiters, bus electricity meters of the brands ABB, Busch-Jäger , Eaton, Eltako, Gira, Hager, Lingg & Janke, Merten and Siemens for various automation systems.
