Few companies are as well represented in households in this country as Robert Bosch Hausgeräte GmbH is. No wonder, because the company is the leading household appliance manufacturer and market leader in Germany. This success story began with Robert Bosch and the founding of a workshop for precision engineering and electrical engineering in Stuttgart at the end of the 19th century. Within 50 years, the company developed rapidly into a global group with many thousands of employees. The first household appliances came onto the market in 1933. In the post-war period, the company experienced a real boom when kitchen appliances, washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and many other electrical helpers conquered German households. In order to promote this product group individually from now on, BSH Hausgeräte GmbH was created in 1967, a joint project by Bosch and Siemens (BSH is the abbreviation for Bosch and Siemens Hausgeräte), which has been a 100 percent subsidiary of the Bosch Group since 2015. The product range today includes large household appliances for cooking, dishwashing, laundry washing and drying, cooling and freezing, as well as a variety of small appliances such as fully automatic espresso machines, floor care and hot water appliances. BSH has around 40 plants in Europe, the USA, Latin America and Asia. Together with a global network of sales, production and service companies, the BSH Group today comprises around 80 companies in 50 countries with a total of around 62,000 employees.
