It was 1910, more than 110 years ago, when the 'Elektrische Industrie Fritz Wieland' company started production. Initially, signaling devices for measuring power losses and junction boxes were manufactured. With the invention of a divisible slotted terminal, Fritz Wieland helped his company achieve a breakthrough. The component that became known as the Wieland clamp proved to be of particularly high quality and was the first safe electrical cable clamp connection that has proven itself a million times over. But it didn't stay with the terminal and the company grew into an internationally active solution provider and market leader for pluggable electrical installations in building technology and into a provider for safety and automation technology. The independent subsidiaries Wieland Electric and STOCKO Contact operate under the Wieland Holding umbrella. With a market share of 80 percent, Wieland Electric, for example, is the market leader in pluggable building installations with its gesis system. The company's product range now includes over 20,000 different components for automation technology and building installation.
