The control unit is suitable for single drives with higher speed control requirements. Extended safety functions and a large I/O framework allow extensive applications. With vector control, two encoders (position and speed) can be connected. This extension enables use in lifting/pivoting/moving or turning applications. The CU250S-2 Control Unit controls and monitors the power section (Power Module) and the connected motor in several selectable control modes. It enables communication to a local or central controller and to monitoring devices and is used to connect all process-relevant auxiliary units and external components such as sensors, valves, contactors, etc. The extensive I/O interfaces, the fieldbus interfaces and the additional software functions optimally support the application in general mechanical engineering. The CU250S-2 has the integrated safety functions Safe Torque Off (STO), Safe Stop 1 (SS1) and Safe Brake Control (SBC) as standard. In addition, the integrated safety functions Safely Limited Speed (SLS), Safe Speed Monitor (SSM) and Safe Direction (SDI) can be activated with the safety license.
